Family Foundations Program

A Roadmap for Family-Wide Healing

Anew is proud to offer an extremely unique, dedicated family education and support program to partner with families on the journey to health, recovery, and renewal.

Numerous studies and decades of our own clinical experience have demonstrated that mental health treatment outcomes and sustainability of change are significantly higher when families are involved and actively participate in the treatment process. As such, we have intentionally designed a family-focused program that each community member’s family is automatically enrolled in upon their loved one’s admission at Anew.

One of the most distinguishing features of Anew’s approach to system-wide healing and health is that all family-focused services are tightly integrated into our treatment model and are a requisite for program membership. For deep and lasting change to take place across the family system, we take an “everybody plays!” approach. Our Family Foundations Program further empowers family members to work closely with the treatment team and collaborate on both immediate and future needs and goals of the system.

Anew’s Family Foundations Components

01

Integration into all pre-admission appointments and inclusion in admission, orientation, and initial meetings.

02

Weekly progress update calls to ensure families are informed and included in treatment planning.

03

Weekly family therapy sessions with the aim of promoting healing, change, and wellbeing of the entire family system.

04

Inclusion in Anew’s monthly “Resilient Roots” virtual multi-family group therapy to build a supportive community with other families in treatment and experience a caring space in which to offer and receive emotional and practical support.

05

**New** Seasonal Family Foundations weekends to promote togetherness and the supported practice of the skills, techniques, and strategies being acquired in therapy sessions. These weekends involve structured opportunities to ensure that families have the tools, understanding, and support necessary to foster healing and growth both during and after treatment. These experiential gatherings include:

    • Meet-and-greets for families to meet and connect
    • Small family process groups
    • Multi-family support groups
    • Anew Community social gatherings and experiences
    • Family education seminars
    • Planned “free time” to enjoy local activities as a family

The Family Foundations Program weekends are facilitated and supported by Anew’s clinical and treatment teams to ensure maximum therapeutic engagement and opportunities for fun connection. We are excited to share the 2025 Family Foundations weekend dates in advance so families can plan accordingly. Each weekend begins at 8AM on Friday morning and commences on Sunday.
